Introducing The Mango Diaries Podcast

Next month Michael and I are launching the Mango Diaries Podcast. We are so excited to share some of our passion for international development and aid work by introducing you to people doing God’s work around the world.

The first episode will drop Tuesday, September 1st across all podcast platforms. We’d be so honored if you join the journey by subscribing to our channels and sharing with anyone who you think may be interested in Mango Diaries.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the heart behind the podcast

What is Mango Diaries?

It’s a podcast about intentional risk taking with Jesus. We are faith-based, meaning that our relationship with God motivates us to love others with our lives, and we’re looking to learn from people who follow Jesus with more than just their words. They live it!

Why are we doing a podcast?

Two reasons:

1.      Our hope is to inspire and equip listeners to live intentionally and take faith-filled risks by sharing honest stories of calling, justice, discipleship, and everyday obedience to Jesus around the world. We’ve both been greatly impacted by hearing people share stories of how God has moved them to serve using their gifts and abilities.

2.      We’re in a season of transition ourselves. The humanitarian aid world is changing, and we now have four little girls. After spending the last ten years abroad, we’re trying to discern the next best steps towards a faith-filled life with Jesus. We want to learn from the people we interview and bring you along with us.

Who are we interviewing?

The first six weeks will be just Michael and I sharing a bit of our stories. We designed it this way so that we could first get the hang of this whole podcast thing, and honestly, it’s a little cringe for us to relive (so bear with us)! The second season will pivot to interviewing people we personally know that are living out pretty awesome lives of service.

They’re driven by a real faith in God and listens to His leading, moving forward even when it feels risky. We’ll interview people from different backgrounds, cultures, and nations to learn a bit more of how God is at work in the world.

Who is it for?

Mango Diaries is for people who want to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and are desiring a deeper understanding of how God works through ordinary people to bring about redemption in the present tense. They are drawn to international ministries, justice, discipleship, and want to make a difference in the world but don’t know where to start or how to pivot from their everyday reality. Listeners value global perspectives, transparency, and practical wisdom.

When will new episodes come out?

Our first episode is September 1st, 2026. New episodes will come out every Tuesday morning through the end of 2026.  Why Tuesday? Honestly, a few of my favorite podcasts come out every Tuesday so there must be a reason to the rhyme.

How can you get involved?

Three ways:

1.      Give us a listen and if you like it, subscribe to our channels and like, comment, and share as much as you can. These first days are nerve wracking. Launching a podcast is filled with questions - will people listen? Will they like it? Will we be judged? (yes, likely) Is it worth the time and effort we’re putting into it? Let us know what you think. Your honest feedback really does help. Just please, be kind.

2.      Let us know if you know anyone inspiring that you think may be good for us to interview. We’re always looking for more guests and would love to learn from anyone you think worthy of the cause.

3.      Share this podcast with people. That means the world to us. We aren’t podcast gurus, we don’t have a big platform, and we aren’t paying for advertisements. Essentially, we’re living on a prayer. Help us out and share the podcast. We truly want to see people’s worldviews expanded as they listen to the many ways that God is at work around the world.

Thank you for your ongoing support to my writing and now, this little podcast launch! If anything, I hope our little step of faith inspires you to take one too. We only live once! Wolo!
